S video card?

So i can just buy a wire and a plug to my tv now right? some sale person told me i need to buy a hudred or more convert ???is that true??. i saw the s video plug on my monitor is okie to? watch it on my tv...........|||If you want to change monitor to TV, you just need S-Video cable.
