Why do the drivers fro my laptop's video card cause the keyboard to slow down?

I've reinstalled windows a number of times and it continues to be an issue. There isn't any doubt that the drivers are the cause of my problems. I got the wrong drivers on a disk with my computer a while ago and had to find the right ones on the manufacturers web site. My laptop is a Dell Vostro 1000|||Because they keyboard is bad apparently.
