Can anyone please tell me how to repair my computer's video card? Nothing shows on the monitor when it is on.

(For anyone who knows a lot about video card troubleshooting.)

When I turn the computer and the monitor on, the operating system starts, but nothing shows on the monitor screen. I have downloaded driver after driver from various resources, and none of them helped to resolve the problem. Please help!!!|||If the monitor used to work and suddenly stopped, it's probably not the driver.

Before you go crazy, check the simple things: Connect your monitor to another computer and a known working monitor to your computer.

Check the electricity in the outlet with a 2-pronged tester(phase and neutral).|||You need to figure out if it's the monitor or the video card.

Try a known good monitor. If there is no display at all, it's the video card, replace it as it's not economically repairable. If the display now works, your monitor is bad. Again, most of the time it's not worth trying to repair a monitor either as the repair cost is likely to be near the cost of a new one anyway.|||How did you install the drivers without a monitor?

I would make sure all of the connections are tight and the monitor is plugged in. If this is a desktop, you can try to replace the video adaptor but I suspect it's something eles.|||1st I would only go to the Video Cards web site to get the updated drivers only! Your taking a risk by going to joeblows.com to get video card drivers. You might have installed the wrong driver. If you PC has intigrated graphics on it, then unplug the Connection to the Video Card and plug into the inigrated port. IF you get graphics then Update the drivers and switch back to the video card.

Goo Luck
